A little about the Owner

Sometimes it is nice to know a little bit about the humble beginnings on how a business first came together.

WELL.... where do I start?

From a young age I was always drawn to the hair and makeup industry, but back nearly 15 years ago it was so competetive to find a apprenticeship and unfortunately just wasn't my time, so I left school in year 10 and worked in childcare and retail for about 4-5 years to bring in some money to pay for my brand new car (of course). While working in childcare I fell pregnant much to my surprise and had my eldest son Ashton at the age of 20 years old, being my first i stayed at home for a year to take care of him but, when it came time to go back to work I really didn't want to go back into a job a really wasn't 100% happy doing!

It was then i sat down and spoke to my husband and talked about going to study Beauty Therapy and he thought it was a great idea. So I did my study and while doing that I approached a local business owner of a day spa about doing some work experience and she loved the idea! She then went on to offer me a Mature Age apprenticeship in Hairdressing. WOW... by this time my little boy was 2 and it was a massive pay cut but what a great opportunity at 22 to be offered the job I always wanted!!

My husband (Todd) was very supportive of the idea, so i did it!! and I haven't looked back for a second! I now own the same salon that gave me all these opportunities, and that is such a reward in its self.

Once I finished my apprenticeship I married my husband (yes we did do everything back to front kids first, job, buying a business, building a house, marriage and than our second little boy Jax!), but I like to think we went through all the hard stuff first so what ever was next had to be easy.....

So I have been in the business since 2006 and have had 7 years experience in the Hair and Beauty Industry. We have grown so much since we first opened with only 3 staff members and starting all over again with clients. Six years down the track we now employ 7 staff and have built up a very good reputation in our local area. I have a amazing team behind me so the future for the salon is very exciting!!
